FM Mattsson Group
Unifying a Nordic Industry Leader
Project Background
About FM Mattsson
FM Mattsson Group develops, manufactures, and delivers solutions for bathrooms, kitchens, and complementary areas across the Nordic region and Europe. With a portfolio of strong product brands—including Mora Armatur, FM Mattsson, Damixa, Hotbath, and Aqualla—the company is experiencing significant international growth, driven by an increased demand for sustainable, water-efficient, and visually attractive products. To support this expansion, I was tasked with developing a completely new corporate visual identity and logotype. The objective was to create a minimalistic, light, and contemporary corporate brand that positions the group at the cutting edge of technology, while allowing the individual product brands to remain the primary heroes of the communication.

Project breakdown / What I did
A structural framework for brand synergy.
Creating a corporate identity for a house of brands requires a delicate balance; the corporate brand must provide strength and unity without overpowering the individual product brands. I designed a comprehensive visual identity platform, centered around a new logotype that seamlessly locks together the company's heritage with a modern corporate signature.
The identity system includes a strict typographical hierarchy utilizing the font Aktiv Grotesk, alongside a defined corporate color palette anchored by "FM Siljan Blue," black, and white. A core component of the strategic execution was developing a flexible grid system and precise interaction rules. These guidelines dictate exactly how the corporate logotype should be presented alongside the product brand logos across various formats, ensuring a clean and contemporary hierarchy. Furthermore, I established comprehensive imagery guidelines to ensure all photography, whether depicting high-tech manufacturing environments or human interactions, conveys a premium "WOW-feeling" that aligns perfectly with the group's sustainable and innovative vision.
